ARUAG - Final Exam Entry - Reggie Screen

Purpose

This screen allows Registrar schedulers to indicate needs for a final examination for a section.

Screen Functions

Skip to a record

If schedule number is known:

  1. At ACTN, enter S
  2. Enter schedule number in SCHED NUM
  3. Press ENTER

If schedule number is not known:

  1. At ACTN, enter S
  2. At SEM, enter the specific semester
  3. At COURSE, enter the course name and number to be viewed
  4. At SECT, enter the section number of the course to be viewed and location
  5. Press ENTER

Indicate no final exam will be given or change a record from exam offered to no exam offered

  1. View an existing section
  2. At ACTN, enter C
  3. Tab to EXAM OFFERED field, enter N (This will remove the day, period and building/room information from the TCM exam record and delete it from the Event-Room Assignment file if these fields were assigned to the record.)
  4. Press ENTER and PF12 to update

Indicate a final exam will be given, technology room not required

  1. View an existing section
  2. At ACTN, enter C
  3. Tab to EXAM OFFERED field, enter Y, Tech Reg fields will be blank
  4. Press ENTER and PF12 to update

Indicate a final exam will be given, technology room required

  1. View an existing section
  2. At ACTN, enter C
  3. Tab to EXAM OFFERED field, enter Y
  4. Tab to the appropriate TECH REQ field and enter an X after the type of technology needed (Select one only)
  5. Press ENTER and PF12 to update

Indicate a final exam will be given, with multiple sections of the same course meeting together

  1. View an existing section
  2. At ACTN, enter C
  3. Tab to EXAM OFFERED field, enter Y
  4. (If technology is required), Tab to the appropriate TECH REQ field and enter an X after the type of technology needed
  5. Tab to SAME COURSE/MULTI SECTIONS field and enter additional sections which should meet with the section that is displayed. PF8 to add more than five additional entries
  6. Press ENTER and PF12 to update

Indicate a final exam will be given, with multiple courses/multiple sections meeting together

  1. View an existing section
  2. At ACTN, enter C
  3. Tab to EXAM OFFERED field, enter Y
  4. (If technology is required), Tab to the appropriate TECH REQ field and enter an X after the type of technology needed
  5. Tab to MULTI COURSES/MULTI SECTIONS field and enter additional courses/sections which should meet with the section that is displayed. PF8 to add more than five additional entries
  6. Press ENTER and PF12 to update

Create or change the day, period, and building information for an exam

  1. At ACTN, enter C
  2. At DAY, enter the 1st character for day of the week (after updating the record, the day of the week and the date of the exam will appear on the screen)
  3. At PERIOD, enter the final exam period (after updating the record, the period beginning and ending times will appear on the screen)
  4. At BUILDING, enter a building name and press ENTER, a pop-in window will appear with the availalbe rooms for the day, period and technology that was selected on the main screen (multiple selections can be made at one time). When selecting a building/room, this will also create/change the record in the Event-Room Assignment screen (ARUAE) with the event name of Xcourse (example XMATH).
  5. Press ENTER after all entries have been selected, PF12 to update
  • If more buildings and rooms are to be entered for the course, enter C at ACTN and follow the above instructions.
  • Multiple Building/Rooms can be made for one exam. if there are multiple building/rooms for an exam, you will see the following message under BLDG field: "PF5 - More Rooms." This will create a pop-in window with all of the building/room information for this exam.

Change or delete an exam that already has buildings/rooms assigned

Single building/room
  1. At ACTN, enter C
  2. At BLDG enter building name, press ENTER
  3. Select the new rooms from the pop-in window (adds need to be made before removing the old building/room)
  4. Press ENTER and PF12 to update

After updating the exam, remove the old building/room by doing the following:

  1. At ACTN, enter S, press ENTER
  2. At ACTN, enter C, press PF5 for the pop-in building/room window, select the building/room to be deleted and press ENTER and PF12 to update

If deleting a building/room

  1. At ACTN, enter C
  2. At EXAM OFFERED, enter N
  3. Press ENTER and PF 12 to update
    (This will remove the day, period, and building/room information from the TCM record and delete the Event-Room Assignment.)

Note: You can always delete the Exam Offering and re-enter the corrected/changed information.

Deleting Multiple buildings/rooms

  1. At ACTN, enter C, press PF5 for the pop-in window
  2. In the pop-in window, select the rooms that you would like to delete (multiple rooms can be selected)
  3. Press ENTER and PF12 to update
    (The records will be removed from the TCM and deleted from the Event-Room Assignment file.)

Create/change a building/room

  1. At ACTN, enter C
  2. At BLDG, enter building name, press ENTER (Day and period fields are required with this field.)
  3. Select the new rooms from the pop-in window
  4. Press ENTER and PF12 to update
    (The change will add to the list of building/rooms and will create/change the exam information in the Event-Room Assignment file.)

LOC

Identifies the specific campus location. (CLOCN, CCRSELOC)

SCHED#

Unique number identifying a section for a specific semester/location

EXAM OFFERED
Indicates if an exam will be offered for the course
Y - Exam offered
N - No exam offered
Blank - No entry made
X-LISTED Displays only if courses (maximum of 3) are officially x-listed on the University Course Master (ARUCU)
TECH REQ
Indicates if a final exam must be scheduled in a technology room
• May only select one
EXAM INFORMATION
If exam is scheduled, day, period, building and room will be displayed
Day M - Mon
  T - Tues
  W - Wed
  R- Thurs
  F - Fri
After pressing enter, the day of the week and the date will automatically populate.

Period FA & SP F1- Final Period 1
    F2 - Final Period 2
    F3 - Final Period 3
    F4 - Final Period 4
    F5 - Final Period 5
    F6 - Final Period 6
    F7 - Final Period 7
  SU 1 - Session 1
    2 - Session 2
After pressing enter, the period begin/end time fields will automatically populate.
BLDG - Boucke 106 (If multiple rooms are assigned, use PF5 key)
LAST UPDATED
Displays ID of who last updated the record
DATE - MM/DD/YY
USER - UserID
DEPT - Department (CDEPT) (only displayed if course is x-listed
CONTROLLING COURSE/SECTION

Indicates which course is assigned to the room on ARUXR. (Displayed for all subordinate courses that meet for an exam with the "controlling course.")

SAME COURSE/MULTI SECTIONS
Displays additional section numbers of the current course that should meet with the currently displayed course.
• Single section number may be entered on each line or a range of section numbers
• All section numbers listed as well as those within any ranges will be grouped together for the exam
• Up to five entry lines will be displayed at one time. More entry lines may be accessed by using PF8
• This section is scrollable using PF7/PF8 key combination
• P indicates a protected field that the user cannot change on this screen (This information comes from the BASE SECT field on screen ARUAC.)
MULTI-COURSES/MULTI-SECTIONS
Displays additional course and section numbers that are to meet with the currently displayed course
• Single course/section number may be entered on each line or a range of section numbers may be entered.
• All course/section numbers listed as well as those within any ranges will be grouped together for the final exam.
• Up to five entry lines will be displayed at one time. More entry lines may be accessed by using PF8
• This section is scrollable using PF7/PF8 key combination
• If a course is entered in this section and the course is actually x-listed with the currently displayed course, a message will be displayed informing the user that this course automatically meets with the displayed course.
• If a course entered in this column and is x-listed with an entirely different course, add the new x-listed course(s) to the existing list.
• P indicates a protected field that the user cannot change on this screen (This information comes from the BASE SECT field on screen ARUAC.)
