ARUPJ/ARIPJ - Maintain Controlled Majors

Purpose

This screen is used by the Registrar's office to define enrollment limits for majors under approved administrative enrollment controls for the spring Entrance to Major (ETM) process. All baccalaureate majors including those not under control must be entered on this screen to participate in the spring Entrance to Major process.

Screen Functions

View a record

  1. At ACTION, enter S
  2. At POOL, enter spring pool
  3. At MAJOR, enter valid major code
  4. At OPTION, enter valid option code, if applicable
  5. Press ENTER

Add a record

  1. At ACTION, enter A
  2. At POOL, enter spring pool
  3. At MAJOR, enter valid major code
  4. At OPTION, enter valid option code, if applicable
  5. At ENROLLMENT LIMIT, enter approved limit for controlled major or 99999 for no limit
  6. At ASSOCIATES MAJOR OPTION, enter the major code for this record and any other option codes associated with this major. Exception: Major code SECED must have separate records for each option due to separate limits for each option
  7. Press ENTER

Change a record

  1. At ACTION, enter S
  2. At POOL, enter spring pool
  3. At MAJOR, enter valid major code
  4. At OPTION, enter valid option code, if applicable
  5. Press ENTER
  6. At ACTION, enter C
  7. Make necessary changes
  8. Press ENTER

Update a record during the ETM process

  1. At ACTION, enter S
  2. At POOL, enter spring pool
  3. At MAJOR, enter valid major code
  4. At OPTION, enter valid option code, if applicable
  5. Press ENTER
  6. At ACTION, enter C
  7. At GPA CUT-OFF, change the GPA to the lowest acceptable GPA for entrance to a major within the corresponding. college. This must be done just before the ETM decision notification to students procedure. All records for the pool must be updated
  8. Press ENTER

Delete a record

  1. At ACTION, enter S
  2. At POOL, enter spring pool
  3. At MAJOR, enter valid major code
  4. At OPTION, enter valid option code, if applicable
  5. Press ENTER
  6. At ACTION, enter D
  7. Press ENTER

MAJOR NAME Indicates the major name for the major code entered
COLLEGE Indicates the college code for the major code entered
ENROLLMENT LIMIT Approved limit for controlled major or 99999 for no limit
ENROLLMENT OFFERED Indicates the number of approvals for a major during the ETM process
CPA CUT-OFF Indicates the actual lowest GPA of students approved for a major during the ETM decision process. This GPA entry is then updated before the decision notification process to the lowest GPA required for entrance to the college.
ASSOCIATES MAJOR OPTION Valid baccalaureate major and option codes used to associate them with one enrollment limit
