Allow Course that Received a "D" Grade to Fulfill
Course (Different Course)
Where "C" or Higher Grade is Required (CS)
This action allows a course that required a "C" or
higher grade to be fulfilled with a different course in which a "D" grade
has been earned in every occurrence on the degree
audit report. For instance, if the course is fulfilling more than one requirement
on the degree audit report and a "C"
or higher grade was required in each instance, the D-graded course would fulfill
each occurrence.
Step 1: Fill in the required fields:
- Course Taken By Student - enter the course abbreviation and number of the course taken by the student in the Name and Number fields.
- Substituted For - enter the course abbreviation and number of the course specified in the program requirements.
- AC - enter a "C" (must be in uppercase).
Step 2: Fill in the optional fields, if desired:
- Remove Degree/Major Restriction - when an exception is entered, it only applies to the program on which it was entered. By checking this box, the specific program information will be removed from the exception.
- Message Displayed on Audit - describe the exception (27 characters). This message will also be displayed on the view/modify exception screen and on the audit in the sub-requirement where the exception is being applied.
- Date Authorized - defaults to the current date. This is an updatable field so the date can be changed if needed.
- Notes: (Not displayed on audit) - text field for comments about the exception (150 characters). Anyone viewing the exception can see these notes. This field is NOT displayed on the audit.
- Semester Taken - enter the semester the course was taken by the student. This field is only needed if there are two or more occurrences of the course on the student's academic record.
Step 3: Save the exception:
Confirmation message will display that exception was added.
Step 4: Scroll down to the end of the page to:
- Enter another exception for this student - select the "Back to Exception List."
- Add another exception for this student but in a different program - select the "Back to Program List."
- Enter an exception for a different student - select the "Choose New Student."
- To request a degree audit for this student - select the ERISDN link in the left-frame menu.
