ARUAF - Final Exam Data Screen

Purpose

This screen allows department schedulers to indicate needs for a final examination for a section.

Screen Functions

Skip to a record

If schedule number is known:

  1. At ACTN, enter S
  2. Enter schedule number in SCHED NUM
  3. Press ENTER

If schedule number is not known:

  1. At ACTN, enter S
  2. At SEM, enter the specific semester
  3. At COURSE, enter the course name and number to be viewed
  4. At SECT, enter the section number of the course to be viewed
  5. Press ENTER

Indicate no final exam will be given

  1. View an existing section
  2. At ACTN, enter C
  3. Tab to EXAM OFFERED field, enter N
  4. Press ENTER and PF12 to update

Indicate a final exam will be given, technology room not required

  1. View an existing section
  2. At ACTN, enter C
  3. Tab to EXAM OFFERED field, enter Y
  4. If alternate seating is required, tab to ALT SEATING REQ field and enter Y
  5. Press ENTER and PF12 to update

Indicate a final exam will be given, technology room required

  1. View an existing section
  2. At ACTN, enter C
  3. Tab to EXAM OFFERED field, enter Y
  4. Tab to the appropriate TECH REQ field and enter an X after the type of technology needed
    (This must match one of the TECH codes displayed on screen ARUAC)
  5. If alternate seating is required, tab to ALT SEATING REQ field and enter Y
  6. Press ENTER and PF12 to update

Indicate a final exam will be given, with multiple sections of the same course meeting together

  1. View an existing section
  2. At ACTN, enter C
  3. Tab to EXAM OFFERED field, enter Y
  4. (If technology is required), Tab to the appropriate TECH REQ field and enter an X after the type of technology needed
    (This must match one of the TECH codes displayed on screen ARUAC)
  5. If alternate seating is required, tab to ALT SEATING REQ field and enter Y
  6. Tab to SAME COURSE/MULTI SECTIONS field and enter additional sections which should meet with the section that is displayed. PF8 to add more than five additional entries
  7. Press ENTER and PF12 to update

Indicate a final exam will be given, with multiple courses/multiple sections meeting together

  1. View an existing section
  2. At ACTN, enter C
  3. Tab to EXAM OFFERED field, enter Y

  7. Press ENTER and PF12 to update

Change a record from exam offered to no exam offered

  1. View an existing section
  2. At ACTN, enter C
  3. Tab to EXAM OFFERED field, enter N
  4. Press ENTER and PF12 to update

Additional Field Level Detail

ACTN
Identifies the function to be performed:
S - Skip to an existing record
C - Change an existing record
SEM Identifies a specific semester. (ex: SP2001, SU2001, FA2001)
COURSE

Course abbreviation (CCRSEABB) (ex. XXXXX999X)
SECT

Course section (ex. 999X)
LOC

Identifies the specific campus location. (CLOCN, CCRSELOC)
SCHED#

Unique number identifying a section for a specific semester/location
EXAM OFFERED
Indicates if an exam will be offered for the course
Y - Exam offered
N - No exam offered
Blank - No entry made
X-LISTED Displays only if courses (maximum of 3) are officially x-listed on the University Course Master (ARUCU)
TECH REQ
Indicates if a final exam must be scheduled in a technology room
• May only select one
• Course must have technology indicator on screen ARUAC
ALT SEATING REQ
Indicates if alternate seating is required for final exam
Y - Yes
Blank (default) - No
EXAM INFORMATION
If exam is scheduled, day, time and room will be displayed
DAY - MON MM/DD/YY
TIME - 0800A - 0950A
ROOM - 106 Boucke (If multiple rooms are assigned, use PF5 key)
LAST UPDATED
Displays ID of who last updated the record
DATE - MM/DD/YY
USER - UserID
DEPT - Department (CDEPT) (only displayed if course is x-listed
CONTROLLING COURSE/SECTION

Indicates which course is assigned to the room on ARUXR. (Displayed for all subordinate courses that meet for an exam with the "controlling course.")
SAME COURSE/MULTI SECTIONS
Displays additional section numbers of the current course that should meet with the currently displayed course.
• Single section number may be entered on each line or a range of section numbers
• All section numbers listed as well as those within any ranges will be grouped together for the exam
• Up to five entry lines will be displayed at one time. More entry lines may be accessed by using PF8
• This section is scrollable using PF7/PF8 key combination
• P indicates a protected field that the user cannot change on this screen (This information comes from the BASE SECT field on screen ARUAC.)
MULTI-COURSES/MULTI-SECTIONS
Displays additional course and section numbers that are to meet with the currently displayed course
• Single course/section number may be entered on each line or a range of section numbers may be entered.
• All course/section numbers listed as well as those within any ranges will be grouped together for the final exam.
• Up to five entry lines will be displayed at one time. More entry lines may be accessed by using PF8
• This section is scrollable using PF7/PF8 key combination
• If a course is entered in this section and the course is actually x-listed with the currently displayed course, a message will be displayed informing the user that this course automatically meets with the displayed course.
• If a course entered in this column and is x-listed with an entirely different course, add the new x-listed course(s) to the existing list.
• P indicates a protected field that the user cannot change on this screen (This information comes from the BASE SECT field on screen ARUAC.)
