When should I use LionPATH? When should I use eLion?

February 4, 2016 -- Starting February 15, 2016, current Penn State students will be able to log into LionPATH, the new student information system replacing eLion. LionPATH is being rolled out in phases with full implementation completed by December 2016. So while students will begin using LionPATH in February for Fall 2016 enrollment activities, you still will need to continue using eLion for certain academic actions for Spring and Summer 2016.

When should students use eLion?

In spring 2016, students should continue to log in to eLion to:

  • Complete all Spring 2016 registration activities (Spring 2016)
  • View Summer 2016 Schedule of Courses (available now)
  • Register for Summer 2016 courses (available now)

When should students use LionPATH?

In spring 2016, students should log in to LionPATH to:

  • Sign the Consent to Do Business Electronically document (required to enroll in courses)
  • Sign the Financial Responsibility Agreement (required to enroll in courses)
  • Update contact and directory information (beginning February 15, 2016)
  • View Fall 2016 Schedule of Classes (beginning February 22, 2016)
  • Access the new Schedule Builder to search for classes and compare possible scheduling combinations (February 2016)
  • Register for Fall 2016 courses (beginning March 2016 for qualified students)
