April 4, 2024 -- There is a new way for instructors to offer exams through Canvas in our STEC general purpose classrooms.

January 10, 2024 -- This is just a reminder that there are minimum course enrollment thresholds for classes and that we have a query to help you find your classes that may not be meeting these thresholds. The query is PE_SR_CLASS_UNDER_ENRL_SEC.

September 5, 2023 -- I am writing to let you know that Fall 2024 (2248) is ready in LionPATH. Here are a few reminders:
August 21, 2023 -- This is just a reminder that if you cancel a class, nothing automatically goes to the students to let them know of this change or any change (days, times, location, etc.) for that matter. Best practice is to go to the class roster prior to cancelling the class and notifying the students through there.
August 17, 2023 -- Our office has created a historical course offering dashboard on our website. It is very similar to our old one we had back in ISIS days, but we have added some additional features such as instruction mode, class component, session type, and start/end dates.
August 15, 2023 -- I just wanted to let you know that I was alerted that our attribute of "TEXT <$50" was breaking Schedule Builder.

April 14, 2022 -- There seems to be a little confusion about the web instruction mode, so I just wanted to send an email to everyone to hopefully clear up some things. The web instruction mode is supposed to be for classes that meet completely online asynchronously.

February 24, 2021 -- With the announcement in Penn State News about Summer and Fall 2021, here is what we would like you to work on with classes and classrooms for Summer 2021.
January 20, 2021 -- We have added a historical class search page to our website where students can find a tool to view classes Penn State offered from Summer 2019 and Summer 2020.
January 8, 2021 -- It has been decided that we will follow the same guidelines for classrooms during the spring 2021 remote period as we did for the fall 2020 remote period. We recently removed your classes from classrooms in 25Live from January 19-February 12.
December 16, 2020 -- We have completed our cleanup of the Optimizer run for Fall 2021 (2218) in CollegeNET and I have turned on your security to make edits for that semester in LionPATH.
November 11, 2020 -- I will be running the Fall 2021 Optimizer starting today and continuing for the next few weeks. While I am doing that, I have to set all the general purpose classrooms back to the default capacity instead of the social distancing capacity.
November 4, 2020 -- I just wanted to let you know where we are with classrooms for Spring 2021. I still have five classes that I cannot place, but they are all in the afternoon and looking for rooms that will hold over 20. So, at this time, you can make changes to classrooms that have a capacity of 20 or less all days and all times.
October 28, 2020 -- This is just a reminder that I will be closing Fall 2021 next Friday at 5pm so that we can get ready to run the Optimizer on November 11th.
October 22, 2020 -- I just wanted to provide an update on where we are with classrooms for Spring 2021.
October 13, 2020 -- Tonight we will be updating the Spring 2021 academic calendar in LionPATH and running a process to update the regular session and first seven week start date, drop/add dates, and late drop dates. We ask that you not update any classes for any semester after 5pm tonight so the process can run.
October 9, 2020 -- With the changes to the academic calendar and with changes to the registration timetable, we are not sure if some of you need to change the dates of your reserve capacities.
October 2, 2020 -- We just completed removing the blocks from the GPCs for Spring 2021. You may begin swapping rooms that you were previously assigned (same days/same times).
September 25, 2020 -- The Schedule of Classes will not be published on Monday and you have until October 1st to finalize your instructional modes for Spring 2021.

June 30, 2020 -- I just want to remind you that if you are indicating that you would like our office to find you a room by using the NONSTANDRD facility ID, please go to the Enrollment Cntrl tab in Maintain Schedule of Classes and change the Requested Room Capacity to the smallest room you can handle.
June 23, 2020 -- Thank you for your patience as we reviewed the best ways to handle the Fall 2020 class schedule. I have a little more information and a timeline to share at this time.
June 22, 2020 -- We will be scheduling final exams for 6WK2 and Regular session by assigning days and times for these exams with the facility ID of WEB.
June 16, 2020 -- This is a reminder that you have until June 19th at 5pm to make adjustments to your Spring 2021 schedule before we run the Optimizer.
June 8, 2020 -- The first Summer six-week and Dynamic dated classes that end on 6/26 final exams have been added to LionPATH and you can now see the schedule for any classes you requested to have an exam.
May 11, 2020 -- Although in person classes are not being held for Summer 2020 6WK1, final exams are still going to be scheduled by the Office of the University Registrar. This is to assist students in avoiding having two exams at the same time.
April 16, 2020 -- I am writing with updated information related to COVID-19 and the transition to remote learning for summer 2020. All courses that were on the summer schedule as in-person courses must be updated using two newly created instruction modes.
April 14, 2020 -- I am happy to tell you that Spring 2021 (2211) is ready in LionPATH. On the Basic Data tab, please fill in the session, class section, component, class type, and associated class.
April 6, 2020 -- We have heard of a couple instances where people are changing the instruction mode on their summer 2020 classes to web due to COVID-19. At this time, there has been no official word from the University about changing the way we are offering our summer classes.
March 27, 2020 -- As you are aware the University is making adjustments to assist the students during the remote learning period, we ask you to please not cancel any sections at this time for Spring 2020. There are discussions being had on how to deal with course delivery and canceling sections impacts financial aid and reporting that is still being worked on.
March 18, 2020 -- We have completed conflict exam scheduling for Spring 2020 and have notified students and instructors of changes to their exam schedule. I have attached the list of scheduled conflict exams. Although we are aware that all exams are being delivered remotely we still have to honor student conflicts by providing a day and time schedule, please disregard the room assignments.
February 17, 2020 -- Spring 2020 finals have been loaded into LionPATH. Please use the PE_SR_FINAL_EXAM_SCHEDS to see when your finals are scheduled. Finals were scheduled for classes that requested a final by the deadline, which was Friday, January 17th by 5 PM.
January 8, 2020 -- To make sure our first week of classes isn't absolutely insane, how about you all check out your room assignments in LionPATH and CollegeNET and make sure they match? To do this, I would suggest using the PE_SR_CLASS_TERM_SUBJECT query in LionPATH and then look up your classes in CollegeNET by following the attached directions (25Live Pro Event Search Directions).
January 7, 2020 -- This is your second reminder that the deadline to request a final for Spring 2020 is Friday, January 17th by 5PM, there will be no exceptions for any missed exams. Please double check your groupings, and remember that ALL final exams have been changed to "Not Specified" when the semester rolled.
December 11, 2019 -- We have completed our cleanup of the Optimizer run for Fall 2020 (2208) in CollegeNET and I have turned on your security to make edits for that semester in LionPATH. This is the first semester that we are using CollegeNET's Lynx interface. This is a quicker interface, so you should see changes happen in both systems faster.
